Funskool becomes the first toy manufacturer to achieve Bis certification

Funskool India of the MRF Group said on Wednesday that it had become the first Indian toy maker to achieve certification from the Indian Bureau of Safety Standards for electric toys. It has received IS 15644 certification for the Goa-based manufacturing plant.

In addition, Funskool’s Ranipet factory is the very first toy manufacturing unit in South India to achieve BIS accreditation under IS 9873-Part 1 standards for non-electric toys, the company said in a statement. communicated. BIS standardization has been made mandatory for all toys designed or intended for use in play by children under the age of 14 by the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

The deadline for certification was extended to January 1, 2021. Funskool had followed the inspection and quality control process prescribed by the Bureau of Indian Standards for its factories in Goa and Ranipet. Funskool India has been found to have followed all toy safety protocols and has been found to be safe for use by children of all age groups.
