The Brazilian International Toy Fair (ABRIN 2022), the largest toy market event in Latin America, takes place from March 13 to 16 at Expo Center Norte in Sao Paulo.

The Brazilian toy market grew by 14% and generated revenues estimated at 8.7 billion reais (approximately $1.5 billion) in 2021, following the excellent results of 2020 (21% growth, the most sharp increase in recent years).

Today, with an average annual release of 1,400 toys, the sector has around 1,600 specialized outlets and 15,000 retailers in the country. More than 2,100 new professionals were hired in 2021 alone, despite the effects of the covid-19 pandemic, in an industry in which 73% of its market is made up of domestic products.

The high concentration of sales is due to Children’s Day and Christmas, which together represent 65% of the year’s activity. The average ticket in 2021 exceeded R$100.00 (US$17), while product prices remained stable and the industry came up with 1,300 new toys.
