A familiar face has resurfaced in a new place.
Ed Gershowitz, the former chairman of Hornby America and Carrera of America, has been named chief revenue officer and executive vice president of sales at Snorble Inc. The move comes as the tech startup prepares to bring its “smart friend” to market. lighthouse later this year.
“Unlike toys whose shelf life is based on a child’s age, Snorble will grow with the child and it’s an amazing product,” says Gershowitz. “When I was asked to join the all-star team that developed Snorble, I couldn’t say no. I haven’t been this excited since working on the launch of Transformers.
Snorble is designed to help children and families develop healthy habits and bedtime routines. By blending proprietary natural language processing and artificial intelligence (AI) with an animated character, Snorble creates a unique experience for families.
“We are thrilled to have Ed join our group of game changers and misfits,” said Snorble CEO and co-founder Mike Rizkalla, adding that the company “will benefit from his leadership and guidance and looks forward to disrupt that space.
During his 40-year career, Gershowitz held leadership positions at companies including Hasbro, Tyco Toys, and Hedstrom Outdoor Toys.
“Being part of the toy industry, I’ve sold everything from Barbie and Hot Wheels to GI Joe and My Little Pony, and I’ve had the opportunity to see every advancement the industry has made over the past 40 years,” says Gershowitz. “I consider Snorble to be rightfully the next big thing and was blown away by the AI platform and everything that screams innovation.”
