Toy Shop Receives Over $11,000 in Grants and Donations | Community

Through multiple grants and donations, The Toy Shop of Duncan received $11,500 ahead of the organization’s busiest season.

Kim Davis, executive director of Duncan’s Toy Store, said the toy store’s warehouse currently occupies space at 931 W Willow.

Duncan’s Toy Store will have a fall sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, October 15 and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 16.

“We are so thrilled to be home and look forward to more sales in the future,” Davis said.

Davis said last week that the toy store had received three grants/donations.

“This week has been a great week for us,” Davis said. “Walmart Jewelry and Repair in Marlow approved a $4,000 grant, Walmart in Duncan approved a $2,500 grant and Arvest Bank donated $5,000 to us.”

According to Davis, this is a huge step forward for the toy store.

“We had to buy our warehouse, renovate it to bring it up to City of Duncan code, and now we’ll have overhead that we didn’t have before,” Davis said.

Davis said they are looking forward to their fall sale to kick off their busy season.

Duncan’s Toy Store’s Annual Toy Race in December will begin registration Nov. 12-13.

“We look forward to making this Christmas season a brilliant one for Duncan’s kids this year,” Davis said.

Donations can be mailed to Duncan’s Toy Shop at PO Box 206 Duncan, Oklahoma, 73534. For more information, call 580-255-9625 or visit Duncan Toy Shop online at toyshopduncan.com.
