Toys ‘R’ Us and Babies ‘R’ Us will reopen branches in Britain from 2022. Yesterday the brand announced it had signed a long-term exclusive license agreement to relaunch physical stores in the country.
But the Canadian branch of the brand survived.
Now, thanks to the success of Toys ‘R’ Us Canada, as well as the relaunch of the brand in Australia, Britain will see the iconic toy store return to its lands.
Yehuda Shmidman, President and CEO of parent company WHP Global and Toys ‘R’ Us, said: “We have chosen Toys ‘R’ Us ANZ as our partner to expand into the UK because of their successful proven in launching with us in Australia under the leadership of their CEO, Dr. Louis Mittoni.
“Toys ‘R’ Us is a vibrant business today with over 900 stores and e-commerce sites in over 25 countries, generating over $2 billion in sales annually and growing, especially with new launches. in progress for the US and UK markets.”

As the process of re-launching physical stores in the UK is underway, Britons will soon be able to buy Toys ‘R’ Us products online through the brand’s Australian site.
“Since its separation from the United States, we have observed how the company has grown and focused on the Canadian customer.
“A lot has been accomplished and we are excited to help drive the business forward.”
Mr Putman added that the brand “will continue to assess all opportunities that make business sense”, sparking further speculation over its UK relaunch.
Toys “R” Us’ expansion has already begun as the brand announced that its products are available for purchase online through US retail giant Macy’s.
It will also launch more than 400 branches in Macy’s stores across the United States over the next few months.
In August, many social media users seemed happy about the return of Toys “R” Us.
