Winners of the 57th Toy Industry Awards Announced – ToyNews

Barbie Day to Night Dreamhouse, Mattel and Smyths triumphed at this year’s Toy Industry Awards, winning Toy of the Year, Supplier of the Year and Toy Retailer of the Year, respectively. A TRA Outstanding Contribution Award was presented to Gary Grant of Dream Toys for his individual contribution to the Dream Toys event over many years.

The Industry Awards, which are presented by the British Toy & Hobby Association (BTHA) and the Toy Retailers Association (TRA), are traditionally announced at a live event on the first day of the London Toy Fair. However, given the unique circumstances and current COVID situation, a special video has been produced to showcase all of the 2021 finalists and winners.

In what has been another challenging year, all of our judges have been impressed with the high standard of entries received and the achievements made in 2021 by all of the finalist retailers – who deserve our heartfelt congratulations. Congratulations also to our worthy dolphins who, let’s remember, were the best in their category, and to all my sincere thanks for their participation.

Alan Simpson, President of the TRA, added: “The Toy Retailers Association and our judging panel of retailers were impressed with the selection of toys on sale throughout 2021 which brought education, entertainment and joy to children during the year.

“Congratulations to all of the shortlisted toys, and in particular to the winners, who retailers deemed the best of the year. I would also like to thank Gary Grant on behalf of the entire industry for his many years leading Dream Toys – in bringing toys to the attention of the media and families in the run up to Christmas for so many years.
